Disappointment feels like a part of life.

Perhaps you are disappointed in other people. Maybe you are disappointed in yourself.

The definition of disappointment is the feeling of sadness or displeasure caused by the non fulfillment of one’s hopes or expectations.

Disappointment exposes a gap in reality and expectations.

When you are faced with a gap of this magnitude, which causes you a disappointment, I invite you to turn it into an “appointment.”

What does that mean?

Well, simply remove the DIS — delete the DIS from DISappointment. The DIS that stands for disgruntled, disgusted, diseased, etc. Just focus on the “appointment.”

The definition of appointment is an act of appointing; assigning a job or position to someone. Also know as a nomination or designation. Think of it this way: you are appointed King or Queen.

If you are feeling disappointed, use it as an opportunity to be appointed — to take a stand for creating sustainable and positive change.

Disappointment vs appointment is a shift in power — shifting the power from being a victim of to being “appointed” with the power to influence the circumstance in a positive way and to serve others.

I invite you to remove the word “disappointment” from your vocabulary. Trust me, it’s a life changer!
